Terms of Service
Effective July 15, 2026. Last updated November 8, 2026.
1. The short version
This box summarizes the Terms in plain language. The full Terms below control if there is any difference.
- You must be at least 21. We do not offer, market, or target LangBytes in the European Union, the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland.
- If you buy something from us, you can get a refund within 14 days of buying, for any reason, with narrow exceptions for digital downloads, digital content or reports, and services that you ask us to start and acknowledge at purchase. We always refund when the failure is ours: non-delivery, a duplicate or wrong charge, or a paid service that is down for a long time.
- You own your content. We use it only to run the Services for you.
- We will not make surprise changes. Material changes get advance notice, and if you prepaid you can cancel and get a refund for the unused period.
- We exclude liability to the maximum extent the law allows. We stay responsible for our own fraud, intentional misconduct, and gross negligence, for refunds and billing corrections we owe you, and for anything the law does not let us exclude.
- To protect everyone, we may limit or suspend accounts for fraud, repeated refund or chargeback abuse, scraping, resale, credential sharing, or harassment. Except for fraud, card testing, security risks, legal requirements, users under 21, and serious abuse, we tell you first and give you a chance to fix it.
- Delaware law applies. Please contact us first so we can try to resolve a problem before any claim is filed.
2. Operator and acceptance
LangBytes is a product operated by Algodyne Corporation, a Delaware corporation. In these Terms, LangBytes refers to the product and Services, and Algodyne, we, us, or our refers to Algodyne Corporation.
These Terms govern access to and use of LangBytes websites, applications, accounts, and related services (the Services).
By accessing or using LangBytes, you agree to these Terms and the Privacy Policy. If you use LangBytes on behalf of a company, organization, or other legal entity, you represent that you have authority to bind that entity.
At registration, LangBytes shows one checkbox, unchecked by default, with the following label, in which the Terms and the Privacy Policy are links, and you cannot register without ticking it. LangBytes does not show the checkbox when you sign in, and signing in does not change or renew your earlier agreement, which stays recorded against the version you agreed to. LangBytes records your agreement with the date and time, the version of these Terms and of the Privacy Policy, and a hash of the exact label shown:
I agree to the Terms and Conditions and Privacy Policy
3. Waitlist and service status
Joining the waitlist records interest but does not guarantee an invitation, launch date, feature set, language, region, price, plan, account, or continued operation. Product features may change as LangBytes is tested and improved.
4. Eligibility
You must be at least 21 years old to access, register for, purchase, use, or otherwise participate in LangBytes. By agreeing to these Terms, you confirm that you are at least 21 years old.
LangBytes does not offer a parental or guardian-consent path. Algodyne may suspend or delete an account if it learns that the user is under 21.
5. Regions we do not serve
Algodyne does not offer, market, or target the Services in the European Union, the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, and has not appointed a representative in any of them.
Algodyne does not block sign-ups. If you register for or use the Services from the European Union, the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, you do so on your own initiative and you are responsible for complying with the local law that applies to you. You acknowledge that Algodyne does not offer or target the Services in those regions.
By ticking the box to agree to these Terms when you register, you confirm that you are at least 21 years old and that you understand and accept the statements in this section, including that you are responsible for complying with your local law.
6. Accounts and security
You are responsible for:
- Providing accurate and current account information.
- Maintaining control of your credentials, passkeys, recovery material, devices, browsers, and sessions.
- Keeping your email account secure.
- Using appropriate roles, permissions, and account separation.
- Promptly notifying Algodyne of unauthorized access or suspected compromise.
You may not share your account credentials or allow multiple users to access a single account, and you may not share or use an account in a way that circumvents plans, roles, access controls, rate limits, security controls, or usage limits.
You are responsible for activity performed through your account.
You may stop using LangBytes and request account deletion at any time.
7. User Content
User Content means content and information that you or your workspace submits, uploads, writes, imports, creates, stores, shares, publishes, or otherwise provides through LangBytes, including messages, support requests, and requests to correct or remove information.
You retain ownership of your User Content. These Terms do not transfer ownership of User Content to Algodyne.
You grant Algodyne a limited, worldwide license to host, store, review, transmit, process, display, reproduce, format, modify, translate, export, publish, distribute, and otherwise use User Content only as necessary to provide, secure, support, and operate the Services according to your actions, settings, and these Terms.
You are responsible for ensuring that your User Content is accurate where relevant, lawful, and non-confidential unless a feature specifically requests confidential information, and that you have the rights, permissions, releases, licenses, and lawful bases needed to submit, store, process, share, or otherwise use it through LangBytes.
8. Feedback
If you provide ideas, suggestions, bug reports, feature requests, or other feedback, you grant Algodyne a perpetual, worldwide, royalty-free, irrevocable license to use that feedback without restriction or compensation. This does not transfer ownership of your other content.
9. Acceptable use
You must not use LangBytes to:
- Violate law, regulations, court orders, third-party rights, contracts, or platform terms.
- Infringe copyright, trademark, privacy, publicity, confidentiality, moral rights, database rights, or other rights.
- Submit or publish unlawful, false, misleading, fraudulent, deceptive, infringing, defamatory, harassing, exploitative, hateful, violent, extremist, abusive, or otherwise harmful content, including malware, exploit code, credential-theft tools, or spam systems.
- Impersonate another person, organization, brand, service, or Algodyne representative.
- Interfere with, scan, overload, reverse engineer, disrupt, or compromise LangBytes or related systems, except where applicable law expressly permits the activity.
- Circumvent authentication, usage limits, rate limits, billing, access controls, security controls, review workflows, or entitlements.
- Share, redistribute, resell, or commercially exploit LangBytes content, or use automated systems to scrape, bulk download, or bulk copy it, except through an expressly authorized plan, API, export, or written permission.
- Harvest Personal Data or send spam.
- Use bots or fake accounts to manipulate reservations, referrals, reviews, analytics, rankings, votes, rewards, or similar activity.
- Create legal, security, operational, compliance, or reputational risk for Algodyne, users, or third parties.
A more specific policy controls for the conduct it covers.
You must not:
- Automate or manipulate submissions, referrals, rankings, invitations, or usage limits.
- Impersonate another person or submit an address or content without authority.
- Use referral links for spam or unsolicited messaging.
10. AI-assisted features
AI-assisted and automated features are tools to support you and do not replace your judgment.
You acknowledge that:
- AI-assisted and automated output may be inaccurate, incomplete, biased, offensive, derivative, infringing, duplicative, mistranslated, stale, or unsuitable.
- You are responsible for reviewing AI output before accepting, publishing, distributing, selling, or relying on it.
- Human review, where Algodyne uses it, does not guarantee accuracy.
- You must not use AI features to violate law, rights, these Terms, or other Algodyne policies.
Algodyne does not guarantee that AI output is unique, copyrightable, legally safe, accurate, complete, neutral, or suitable for a particular purpose.
Algodyne does not use your content or Personal Data to train an Algodyne-owned model or authorize a provider to train on it without separate, explicit, opt-in authorization for the specific content and purpose.
Generated lessons and classifications may contain mistakes. LangBytes is an educational aid, not a translation guarantee or professional, legal, medical, safety, or emergency service. Verify important language with a qualified person or authoritative source.
11. Third-party services
LangBytes may link to or integrate with third-party services such as infrastructure, payment, email, analytics, support, calendar, map, and AI providers, and external websites.
Third-party services are subject to their own terms, fees, limits, availability, and privacy practices. Algodyne is not responsible for third-party services it does not control.
Following a link to or using a third-party service may send information from your browser to that third party, whose processing Algodyne does not control.
12. Payments, subscriptions, and refunds
Paid plans, access passes, credits, premium features, and other paid services may be billed through a third-party payment provider.
You agree to pay the fees, taxes, usage charges, and overages shown before purchase.
Unless the purchase flow states something more favorable to you:
- Subscription fees are billed in advance.
- Usage-based fees and credits may be metered.
- If a payment fails, Algodyne will tell you and give you a reasonable chance to fix it before suspending, downgrading, or limiting your account, except where fraud or a security risk is suspected.
- Taxes, currency conversion, bank fees, and payment-provider fees may apply.
Who is a consumer and who is a business customer
A consumer is an individual who buys for personal purposes, outside any trade, business, or profession. A business customer is anyone who buys for business, commercial, professional, or organizational purposes, including on behalf of a company or other entity, or for a team or workspace. If you are unsure, tell us when you contact us and we will treat you in good faith.
14-day refund
If you are a consumer, you may cancel a paid purchase and receive a full refund by telling us within 14 days after the purchase date. You do not need to give a reason.
For a subscription, this 14-day refund applies to your first payment for a plan. You can cancel a renewal at any time, and the plan then ends at the end of the period already paid for. If you ask within 14 days after a renewal charge and have not used the paid features since that renewal, Algodyne refunds that renewal in full.
This refund is Algodyne's contractual policy. These exceptions apply to it:
- Digital downloads, and access to digital content or reports: no refund once delivery or access has begun, if you expressly asked for delivery or access to begin right away and acknowledged that you lose the right to a refund once it begins. Algodyne will ask for that request and acknowledgment before delivery or access begins. If it does not, this exception does not apply.
- Services: if you ask for a service to begin within the 14 days, you pay a proportional amount for what was provided until you told us you wanted to cancel, and Algodyne refunds the rest. Once a service has been fully performed, with your express consent and your acknowledgment that you lose the right to cancel once it is fully performed, no refund is due under this section.
To rely on either exception, LangBytes shows this statement before checkout, unchecked by default, and records your acceptance:
I ask LangBytes to start my access now. I understand that for digital content or reports I lose the 14-day refund once access begins, and that for services I pay for what was provided before I cancel.
Business customers are not covered by the 14-day refund, but are covered by the next section and by any refund terms stated in their purchase terms.
Refunds when the failure is ours
Whatever the 14-day period, Algodyne will refund you, or correct the charge, if:
- Algodyne did not deliver what you paid for (non-delivery).
- You were charged twice for the same purchase (a duplicate charge).
- You were charged an amount you did not agree to, or in error (a billing error).
- A paid service was materially unavailable because of Algodyne for more than 48 consecutive hours, in which case you receive a proportional refund or credit for the affected period.
Tell us about a billing mistake as soon as you see it. Algodyne will review it promptly and fix confirmed mistakes quickly.
How to ask for a refund
Email support@langbytes.com (or privacy@langbytes.com) from the email address on your account and say which purchase it concerns. A plain statement such as "I want to cancel this purchase and get a refund" is enough. No form is required. Refunds go back to the original payment method as soon as reasonably practicable after approval, and your payment provider's timing may add delay.
Refund and chargeback abuse
If you have a problem with a charge, please contact us first. Algodyne will try to resolve it with you before taking action. Algodyne may decline refund requests that show a pattern of abuse, such as repeatedly buying, using, and then asking for refunds, and may suspend an account that files a chargeback or payment dispute for a purchase after receiving the service, once Algodyne has tried to resolve the matter with you. Algodyne may block payments and accounts immediately where it suspects fraud or card testing.
Mandatory law
Nothing in this section limits a refund or cancellation right that mandatory law gives you and that cannot be waived by agreement. Where such a right gives you more than this section does, you receive the more favorable result.
Algodyne may change future pricing, features, limits, or plans as described in the section on changes to these Terms. A price change does not retroactively alter a completed purchase unless the applicable purchase terms expressly permit it.
13. Paid access
If paid access is offered, the price, billing interval, included usage, and renewal terms are shown before purchase. You authorize the disclosed recurring charges until cancellation. Cancellation stops future renewal and does not erase amounts already due.
14. Beta, preview, and early-access features
Beta, preview, experimental, early-access, or waitlist features may be incomplete, unstable, limited, inaccurate, changed, removed, or unavailable.
Do not rely on such features for critical deadlines, business or professional decisions, legal compliance, safety, archival storage, revenue operations, or irreversible workflows unless Algodyne expressly identifies the feature as production-ready for that purpose.
15. Waitlist entries
Algodyne may reject waitlist entries for fraud, abuse, unlawful conduct, security risk, material breach, nonpayment, or conduct that harms LangBytes or others.
16. Renewed acceptance
A new version will be posted with its effective date, and renewed acceptance will be requested when required.
17. Intellectual property
LangBytes, Algodyne, the software, design, website, interfaces, documentation, platform content, graphics, logos, trademarks, service marks, and other platform materials are owned by Algodyne or its licensors.
Except where law permits or Algodyne authorizes in writing, you may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, resell, lease, sublicense, scrape, bulk download, reverse engineer, or create derivative works from platform materials.
18. Copyright and rights complaints
Algodyne may remove, restrict, correct, or unpublish content that appears to infringe rights or that is the subject of a credible rights complaint. Repeated infringement or serious rights violations may result in suspension or termination.
Rights holders and other affected persons may request review, correction, attribution updates, or removal by contacting Algodyne using the contact details below. Algodyne may require enough information to verify the request, identify the content, assess rights or safety issues, and make a proportionate response. Submitting a request does not guarantee removal, correction, or a specific response time.
Algodyne may publish a separate copyright or takedown policy.
19. Privacy
The Privacy Policy explains how Algodyne processes Personal Data through LangBytes.
20. Availability and changes
LangBytes may experience interruptions, errors, delays, missing or stale data, provider outages, maintenance, security events, or feature limitations. Algodyne does not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service, or the continuous availability of any feature, integration, notification, or export.
Algodyne may modify, suspend, limit, or discontinue features, plans, content, integrations, providers, or the Services. If Algodyne discontinues a paid feature or the Services during a period you have already paid for, Algodyne will refund the unused part of that period.
21. Fair use and limits
Algodyne may set reasonable limits on usage of LangBytes, including requests, storage, exports, API calls, and AI-assisted features, so the Services stay reliable for everyone. Limits are stated in the product, on the pricing page, or in the purchase terms.
If your usage regularly exceeds a limit or appears abusive, Algodyne will tell you and give you a reasonable chance to adjust before restricting your use, except where the usage threatens security, stability, or other users, or is fraud.
Please treat Algodyne staff and other users with respect. Algodyne may warn you and then stop responding to, or close, support requests that are abusive, harassing, threatening, or repetitive.
22. Suspension and termination
You may stop using LangBytes at any time.
Algodyne may suspend, restrict, or terminate access if:
- You violate these Terms or another applicable policy.
- You create legal, security, operational, fraud, abuse, payment, or reputational risk.
- Required payment fails.
- Algodyne is required to do so by law, court order, regulator, platform, infrastructure provider, payment provider, or source provider.
- Continued service would create unacceptable risk to Algodyne, users, or third parties.
- Algodyne learns that you are under 21.
Before suspending, restricting, or terminating access for a violation or a payment failure, Algodyne will, where practicable and lawful, tell you the reason by email and give you a reasonable period to fix it. Algodyne may act immediately and without prior notice for fraud, card testing, a security risk, a legal requirement, a user under 21, or serious abuse. If Algodyne terminates your account for a reason other than your violation of these Terms, it will refund any prepaid fees for the unused period.
After termination, content may be removed or disabled, and other information may be deleted or retained according to the Privacy Policy, legal obligations, billing records, backups, disputes, security needs, and export settings.
23. Disclaimers
LangBytes is provided on an as-is and as-available basis. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Algodyne disclaims all express, implied, statutory, and other warranties, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, non-infringement, availability, accuracy, security, and reliability.
Algodyne does not guarantee any business, commercial, professional, educational, or other outcome from your use of LangBytes, or the continuous availability of third-party services.
These disclaimers do not affect any right that law does not allow to be disclaimed, or the refunds and billing corrections Algodyne owes under these Terms.
24. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Algodyne and its affiliates, officers, directors, employees, contractors, agents, licensors, and service providers accept no liability for any loss or damage arising from or relating to LangBytes or these Terms, whether in contract, tort (including negligence), statute, or otherwise. This includes indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, and punitive damages, and loss of profits, revenue, goodwill, data, content, business opportunity, or use.
What stays in place: this exclusion does not apply to, and nothing in these Terms excludes or limits:
- Algodyne's own fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.
- Algodyne's intentional misconduct or gross negligence.
- Death or personal injury caused by Algodyne's negligence, where the law does not allow that liability to be excluded.
- Refunds, credits, and billing corrections that Algodyne owes you under these Terms.
- Any liability or right that applicable law does not allow to be excluded or limited, including mandatory consumer-protection rights that apply to you.
Fallback cap. If any part of the exclusion above is held unenforceable, then to the maximum extent permitted by law, and only for liability arising from ordinary negligence of Algodyne or its representatives or personnel (negligence other than gross negligence, and never fraud or intentional misconduct), Algodyne's total liability for all claims relating to LangBytes or these Terms will not exceed the greater of:
- the amount you paid for the Services giving rise to the claim during the three months before the event giving rise to liability; or
- USD 100.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions or limitations. In those jurisdictions, they apply only to the maximum extent permitted by law.
Non-waivable legal rights are not limited.
25. Indemnity
To the maximum extent permitted by law, you agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Algodyne and its affiliates, officers, directors, employees, contractors, agents, licensors, and service providers from third-party claims, and the resulting losses, liabilities, damages, costs, and expenses, to the extent they arise from:
- Your content and submissions.
- Your violation of these Terms or another applicable policy.
- Your violation of law or third-party rights.
26. Governing law and venue
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except where applicable consumer protection, privacy, employment, or other mandatory local law requires otherwise.
Subject to mandatory non-waivable law, disputes arising from or relating to LangBytes or these Terms will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Delaware, and each party consents to those courts' jurisdiction.
Before filing a claim, email privacy@langbytes.com with a description of the problem and what you are asking for, so that both sides can try in good faith to resolve it informally for at least 30 days. This does not stop either side from seeking urgent relief to prevent harm, and it does not limit your right to contact a regulator.
To the extent applicable law allows, a claim relating to LangBytes or these Terms must be started within one year after it arose, and may be brought only on an individual basis, not as a plaintiff or class member in any class, collective, or representative proceeding. Nothing in this section prevents a consumer from bringing an individual claim in a small-claims court with jurisdiction where the consumer lives, or, for a consumer in Japan, in a Japanese court with jurisdiction under the Code of Civil Procedure.
27. Changes to these Terms
Algodyne may update these Terms as LangBytes, laws, pricing, providers, features, or policies change. The current Terms will be posted on the LangBytes legal page with their effective and last-updated dates.
Algodyne will not make surprise changes. For a material change, Algodyne will give you at least 30 days' notice by email or by a prominent notice in the product before it takes effect. Changes that are required by law, that are needed immediately for security or to stop abuse, or that do not reduce your rights may take effect when posted.
If a material change is adverse to you and you do not accept it, you may stop using LangBytes and cancel before it takes effect, and Algodyne will refund any prepaid fees for the unused part of your current period. Continued use of LangBytes after a change becomes effective means you accept the updated Terms. A price change for an existing subscription applies from the next billing period after notice.
28. Language
Translations of these Terms, including the Japanese version, are provided for convenience. If there is any difference or conflict between a translation and the English version, the English version controls, except that where you are a consumer and the Japanese version you were shown is more favorable to you, the Japanese version applies to you.
